“I'm honored that leaders in the digital media and broadcasting fields are widely recognizing this podcast's role in shining a light on the urgent need to improve our caregiving system,” said Robert Espinoza, host and executive producer of A Question of Care and CEO at National Skills Coalition, a DC-based national policy organizations that focuses on equipping workers with the skills, career pathways, and supportive services to success in good jobs and prosper economically.
Season 1 of A Question of Care, produced by Modry Media under the leadership of Mitch Bluestein, premiered in September 2023, taking a closer look at the complex care challenges facing older adults through in-depth interviews with 10 national experts.
It examined unique challenges facing various segments of the long-term care sector, including home care workers, older people of color, LGBTQ+ elders, immigrant care workers, family caregivers, people with dementia, and more.
According to Espinoza, the podcast aims to draw attention to these critical subjects while helping listeners understand a complex caregiving system, issue by issue, and question by question.
"A Question of Care recognizes that podcasting and narrative change strategies are powerful storytelling tools to drive meaningful change toward creating a care system that truly supports everyone," added Espinoza.
Season 2 of A Question of Care will premiere in March 2025 and dive into the realities of both direct care and childcare workers—essential yet often undervalued contributors to our society.
